War

It seems like everyone and their mom is making a fuss about bringing the troops home from Iraq. Call me crazy, but I don't get how an educated person can say "the Michigan economy is TERRIBLE!!!" and, "Bring the troops home!"with the distance of only a few breaths.

Let's assume the troops that were earliest deployed come home first. We'll ball park their absence to be between 2-4 years. Those military persons, by law, will be entitled to have their job back upon return. What about the number of college graduates that have been hired as temps that are now higher qualified and certified than the military person? How long will it be until that company finds a reason to fire the old guy and get the new one back? A day? Month? Longer? Truth be told, the American government as a whole cannot absorb the finances that would be brought back. Most of the jobs are being out sourced as it is.

Do I believe we should continue to send troops overseas? No. Have we fulfilled all of our obligations to enstil an democracically active political party? Not even close. As a nation, can we survive while avoiding another Great Depression? Probably not.

This is just something to consider.
